This wonderful delicacy is always eaten as a snack. It is usually combined with either coconut, palm kernel or groundnut( peanut).It is made from cassava. Taking this snack on a hot day will regulate your temperature and give you the comfort you need.
What you need:
A grater, bowl, pot, stove or any apparatus that supplies heat, knife
Method:
Using grater
- Peel off the bark of the cassava and wash them thoroughly
- Use a grater to grate the cassava to have a thin surface area. Do not use the side of the grater that grinds it.
- Turn them into a clean pot and add water
- Heat for 10 minutes then strain the water out
- Turn the chips into a bowl and add water
- Leave it overnight
- Strain the water out and then rinse the cassava chips for three times and turn into a plate
- Get your coconut or palm kernel or roasted groundnut ( Peanut) and combine with this wet cassava chips.
Without grater
- Peel off the bark of the cassava and wash them thoroughly
- Cut the cassava horizontally into four pieces
- Turn them into a clean pot and add water
- Heat for 10 minutes then strain the water out
- Allow to cool then use knife to make thin slices of the cassava. It should be like the one in the picture above
- Turn the chips into a bowl and add water
- Leave it overnight
- Strain the water out and then rinse the cassava chips for three times and turn into a plate
- Get your coconut or palm kernel or roasted groundnut ( Peanut) and combine with this wet cassava chips.
