Why Having A Coach Is Important.

Shocking Discovery: Bitterleaf is Good for your Brain and Heart.

We live in a world where people prefer to die with a sweet tooth than even a casual approach to bitter stuffs.

But have you come to find out that most highly medicinal plants are bitter? Just the same way you hate bitter herbs is the same way most microorganisms do.

So, when you develop tolerance for bitter stuffs by taking the bitter herbs, your body will be free from certain parasite/ miroorganism residing in your system.

I guess you knew before now that bitterleaf which is called Vernonia Amygdalina (botanical name), ewuro  (Yoruba), etidot (Efik), onugbu (Igbo), ityuna (Tiv), oriwo (Edo), AwÉ”nwono (Akan), chusar-doki (Hausa) is popularly used to treat Malaria, fever, cough and stomach ailments including stomach parasites.

Outside this, a lot of people do not know that the leaves of this plant is tremendous rich with  many potent antioxidants that can be used to cure  stubborn ailments like high blood pressure, high blood sugar, depression, anxiety, headache and even insanity.

It is my humble pleasure to highlight a few benefits of this rich plant.

High Blood pressure and Fast heart rate
Bitterleaf has been tested and proven for the treatment of high blood pressure over time. Chewing a few leaves once or twice a day have been found to reduce high blood pressure drastically.

Bitterleaf contains high level of potassium which help to counterbalance overproduction of sodium in the body.

People with hypertension tend to over accumulate much sodium and less potassium in their body.

Nearly 90% of processed foods contain large quantities of sodium which leads to high blood pressure when consumed.  You can imagine how many people are making it into hot water for consuming processed food.

So adding bitterleaf to your menu will help to flush out sodium and add more potassium to the system  thereby maintaining a steady blood pressure.

This amazing leaf also works well for fast heart beat. Chewing a few of these leaves can help to give you peace of mind.

High Blood Sugar.

Drinking the juice from bitter leaf  have been known to reduce high blood sugar within a week. Get a few stand of bitter leaves, pluck the leaves, wash them and squeeze the juice out by rubbing the leaves against each other with your palms or pound with mortar and pestle, add one cup of water and then filter the mixture. Drink the filtrate twice a day.

Insomnia

Are you waking up in the middle of the night counting ceilings and rolling from one corner of the bed to another? Then bitter leaf is the solution to your sleeplessness.

I had mentioned other tips on how to conquer insomnia in my previous post but bitter leaf has been proven to be unbeatably effective in calming the nerves down by regulating the production of serotonin and melatonin.

Serotonin plays an important role in sleep because the body uses it to synthesize melatonin. Melatonin is produced at night and plays a fundamental role in regulating the body’s biological clock.  Melatonin governs the entire sleep/wake cycle, whereas serotonin is involved more specifically in wakefulness, in triggering sleep, and in REM sleep.

Just before you sleep, get a few leaves of bitter leaf, wash and chew. Enjoy your night rest without spending hours awake in the middle of the night.

Depression/Anxiety

Are you suffering from depression or anxiety? Then chewing bitter leaf is your final bus stop. Bitterleaf is not only good for the heart but also good for the brain. It helps in the production of certain neurotransmitters.

Serotonin which is largely found in vernonia amygdalina is a neurotransmitter that is largely associated with mood, sleep, appetite, and other regulatory functions in the body. Reduced levels of serotonin are connected to depression and anxiety.

Bitterleaf helps the brain to function effectively that's why it can be used to treat anxiety/depression related mental illness.

Taking bitter leaf might taste bitter but can light up your mood thereafter.

If you find this useful, kindly share to your friends. Who knows, it might be what they need at the moment.
